Stillborn Children

"Even if your feet never touched the earth, your footprints are still there."
Stillborn children are children, who died before, during or shortly after birth. A miscarriage, especially in early pregnancy, is a scenario that catches many women off guard. The time of pregnancy used to be called "being hopeful" and unfortunately, this hope doesn't always have a happy ending. Many couples are left alone with their grief, their questions and uncertainties. Even during this time, I offer sensitive support and bereavement assistance as a midwife. What many women don't know: They have a right to midwifery care, regardless of how soon the pregnancy ends, and these services are reimbursed by their health insurance. Miscarriages are often still a taboo subject. I am here for you, to talk openly about all your feelings, to give your stillborn baby a space and to regain trust in your body.
